What a Trip

A holiday plan can be a great thing when times are a bit tight – it is a way for you to make a bad thing better. So maybe planning something off in the future is a good idea, like disney world florida holidays 2013 or a trip to the Caribbean in late 2012…something that makes sense, because you are putting it into a real perspective.

The key to planning something in the future is to set a destination first. You might plan something local. Like a weekend away for you and your spouse, spent in a hotel only a few miles away. Or maybe, you want to set a destination like Orlando or London, and figure out what a baseline amount might be to enjoy it. The destination is going to suggest travel costs, the costs of hotels and the prices of entertainment options. A place like Disney is going to keep you in its theme parks with a kind of structured vacation, while a city like London or Paris will offer you a wider variety of things to choose.

Once you have a plan that has a general direction, you can start to save for the little extras that make each place more special. You might want to take home some clothing or jewelry, like if you go to Italy or a place known for its sundries. The amount you save here, should reflect only your ability to save: you deserve it!
