Essex for a day

Located next to London County, and part of London’s Home Counties, Essex is a beautiful place on its own. I’d thoroughly recommend you walk into a nice Essex car hire company and rent an economy car to drive around the County and just let its beauty sink in, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. And amazing blend of rural towns, beautiful fields and landscapes, mixed with big towns with all the commodities that the modern world can offer you awaits the informed tourist.

One of the most impressive sites in the Essex horizon is the impressive Hedingham Castle, which I thoroughly recommend you visit. If you’re travelling with your family, a visit to Colchester will probably be the best choice. Asides from the beautiful Colchester Castle, built on a previous Roman structure and that is considered the largest and most complete Norman keep in the country, the children will certainly enjoy a trip to Colchester Zoo. The zoo features many animal attractions, but it’s better known for its big cats and primates exhibits. Other popular attractions include Lemur Island, where you can observe three colonies of lemurs running about, and Penguin Shores, featuring several penguins born at the zoo. They also have a petting and feeding area, a child’s favorite.
